Twitter Love
I know that my friends must be sick of me going on about how great twitter is and I dont think I can blame them, but it is brilliant. Its so understanted as a tool and I admit that I didnt get it before and now I realise how powerful it is, I cant get enough.
Why do I love it? Twitter fits in to lifestyles. No matter who you are you can tweet in seconds. Better still is you have a choice, talk...

A flurry of development
I can already feel myself levitating towards twitter for everything. I should be keeping this diary a lot better than I am. The problem is that I use twitter for everything, and I cant do the same for this. Almost a decision in the realms of one or the other.
Well this week has been busy. Client list is hug at the mo. Smile has had to appoint project managers to each client so that things run...
Twitter ideas.
Wouldn’t it be good if (for us power users) twitter allowed us to send updates via email. Better still, the rss feed as it stands has one large problem. Take safari as the reader for example. It doubles up the tweet as a header and body. If we could set a custom header via email subject line maybe feeds would be more useful. Not everyone would see this change, but twitter would gain a lot of...
Not so much a meeting.
Well I said that I might have something to write about today after speaking with Bal. Wrong. Today seems a bit of a waste. Most times I can make something useful out of something… bad. Not today. Got in at ten left at two; what did I do? Polished a cabinet. Not the most productive I’ve ever been especially considering Smike desperately needs to get some work done.
Well I’m in...
An Executive Decision
I made the decision to remove the importing of my Google Shared items into this diary. I see a lot of great work everyday. Within the week Ive been doing this diary its become a re-blogging service. At first I thought Id get away with it, thinking of it as a collection, like a scrapbook… Yeah, well it looked crap. So as of now, this is all about me and my work. The stuff that I share...

Why I chose Typography for my final year study
About a week ago I had to choose which subject area we wanted to specialise in. I ticked three boxes; graphic design (how specialist!), typography & branding/identity. I guess I kinda suprised myself picking typography. When I was 16 I was dead set on becoming an animator and working for Pixar. By the time I was ready to start consciously choosing universities I knew that I wanted to do a...

This is the piece that we (Smile) submitted for our “Type & Layout” class.
There are still bits we want to change, there are scenes we want to bring back from the cutting room floor, and bits we’d like to tidy up. But we’re not unhappy with this edit, even Erik Spiekermann himself said it was “cool”...

Jewellery Brief
Yeah, this is late! Smile is doing some work for BCU Jewellery School. Had a meeting last Thursday to discuss the redesign of their short course prospectus. As it stands it looks like its being done to the old (UCE) colours. After doing some work on BCU KTP’s with David Os, I’m confident that we can make something hot with the new brand guidelines.
Everyone seemed extremely proud of...

Typevents Brief
Had a meeting with Caroline and Alexandre from Typevents (who are dropping the events bit) about the website brief. It sounds really complex, but exciting. I especially like the integration side of things, Smile just updated its website which I really enjoyed integrating twitter into, so if I can get my hands onto a challenge like that, I’m happy.
Why I started this blog
Ive wanted for ages to write a decent blog that others would want to follow. I’ve never had the time to write a personal blog about something that interests me. I know that it would devour every free second I have. Thats why I got so addicted to twitter (which coincidentally gets reposted onto this tumblr) because it offered a nice short way to get thoughts etc. out there. Now that I have my...
